[Isthd] RESOLVED: Request Tracker (RT) currently unavailable – October 12

Resolved:

The issue with the Request Tracker (RT) system has been resolved and RT is now available.

What do you need to do?

Users are advised to review any RT’s submitted since midnight at rt.uwaterloo.ca to ensure all contents of their tickets were successfully submitted and included in the system.

[Isthd] Microsoft patches early release – October 18

What is happening?

Patches from Microsoft are being released early to all academic support workstations to fix an issue with merged cells in Word.

When is this happening?

Patches are being released today with a deadline of Wednesday, October 18 at 11:00 p.m.

Please note:

  • Clients can install the updates before the 11:00 p.m. deadline via the software centre.
  • The reboot associated with these patches will be handled by the reboot tool on Thursday.

[Isthd] Request Tracker (RT) currently unavailable – October 12

What is happening?

The Request Tracker (RT) system is currently unavailable. IST is working to resolve this problem and it is expected to be available again in the next 10 to 15 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Additional communication will be sent when the issue is resolved.

What is the impact?

The RT user interface is currently unavailable. Any emails sent to rt@rt.uwaterloo.ca will be queued and processed when the system is available.

[Isthd] Some student accounts missing N: drives - October 4

What is happening?

Some student accounts (created over the summer) were created without N: drives.

How is it being fixed?

IST is in the process of identifying these accounts (across all faculties) and creating the missing N: drives.

[Faccus] Outbound mail delays – October 3

What is happening?

Outbound mail to EDU accounts is currently backlogged due to excessive traffic. Mail is still being delivered but with substantial delays. There are approximately 8000 messages in the backlog.

When is this happening?

Issues began at approximately 3:00 a.m. this morning and are ongoing.

Who does this impact?

This issue affects ALL outbound e-mail to EDU accounts.
