Welcome to the Faculty of Arts, a dynamic community of students, faculty and staff working in and across the humanities, social sciences and creative arts. Our ideas and actions are propelled by curiosity, creativity, and a deep commitment to contribute to a better world.

The Faculty of Arts acknowledges that we live and work on the traditional territory of ‎the Attawandaron (Neutral), Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometers on each side of the Grand River.     Viewing Jess Lincoln’s art is a bit like stepping into a stranger’s home. A recent exhibition called, An Interior, was a three-sided installation covered in paintings large and small — some of the artist on or under a quilt, others depict objects from a modest home.

When does normal shyness become a problem? What resources exist for children and families? And, what can parents do to foster mental wellbeing in their children?
