Outreach encompasses functional areas that play an integral role in supporting the Faculty’s strategic priorities. The core areas contributing to Faculty outreach are: Advancement, which includes Alumni Relations, Communications, and both undergraduate and graduate recruitment. To increase our outreach and visibility we will pursue the following objectives and associated action plans:

Emphasize communication of Indigenous scholarship, teaching, learning, and outreach in the University of Waterloo community; build awareness of Faculty of Arts opportunities to address the Calls to Action expressed in the report of the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
