#60in60for60: Alumni co-op 'referral campaign' in honour of the Faculty of Arts' 60th anniversary

Fond memories of your co-op experiences? Want to make a difference for current students? Join our #60in60for60 co-op referral challenge.

As we approach the Faculty of Arts' 60th anniversary this coming September, we want to do something to support our current students.

As much of the economy is recovering after several months of COVID-19 restrictions, many students may be feeling anxious about the possibility that they may not have a co-op position available to them in the fall. As such, we are activating the sheer potential of our alumni who are working in industry, government and academia by inviting you to make an introduction to a potential employer in honour of the Faculty's 60th. Our goal is to create 60 new jobs in 60 days for our students in time to celebrate the Faculty's 60th anniversary this fall. The more the merrier!

Why would an organization want to host a co-op student?

  • Access to some of the brightest and most talented students and future employees.
  • There is unprecedented federal funding, which means that employers could get up to 75% of a student wage subsidized. Non-profits may be eligible for complete funding.
  • To help move them online. Waterloo co-op students have been trained to help companies move to the virtual workplaces.
  • To give a student the experience of a lifetime.
