Don’t know what kind of career you want after graduating? Wondering what you can do with a BA? Curious about working abroad?

Join us as we bring you four Arts Alumni who will be sharing their first-hand experiences on finding their first jobs, figuring out what they wanted to do after graduation, and the things that you can do now to prepare for your future. Let’s make the best of our undergrad!

Laryssa Li (BA ’20 Psychology & Business, Co-op)

Laryssa Li worked in a variety of different marketing roles throughout her co-ops at UWaterloo, ranging from social media to digital and product marketing. Notable companies include Manulife and Scotiabank. Postgrad, she decided to make the leap into the advertising agency world and she is currently working at OLIVER Agency.

Adam Freeman (BA' 18, Peace & Conflict Studies) 

Adam Freeman graduated from the University of Waterloo with a bachelor’s degree in Peace & Conflict Studies in 2018 and is currently a Social Media Strategist at Lovekind. Throughout his career, he has worked with billion-dollar CPG brands, international hospitality brands as well as more local businesses.

Sydney Pinchbeck (BA ’14 Classical Studies)

Sydney Pinchbeck graduated from UW in 2014 and went on to work and live in South Korea as a Native English teacher from 2014-2021. During her time there, she represented Canada as a cultural ambassador and educator. Although she no longer teaches English and culture, she participates in UW's Ten Thousand Coffees program connecting with current students who are preparing for the next stages of their lives.

Arwin Dhingra (BA' 12 Economics & Business, Co-op) 

Arwin Dhingra is a 2012 Waterloo Alumni with a major in Economics. He has 10 years of business consulting experience and is currently helping grow Deloitte's M&A Restructuring & Strategy Practice. Arwin has supported corporations across multiple sectors drive their organization forward through large-scale M&A operations, due diligence, go-to-market strategies, and tech transformation work. Outside of work, Arwin enjoys trying out new cooking recipes, mediating, producing music, strength training, and playing the guitar.
