Mandy Lam (MA 07)

Mandy Lam is a Strategic Communications Director at D2L Corporation in Kitchener. She received her Bachelor of Arts (RPW) and Master of Arts (RCD) in English at the University of Waterloo. During the completion of her Masters degree, Mandy co-developed an online version of English 210F and was the instructor of the course for three years. She has taught business and technical communication courses at UW throughout the years and was the Chair of the UW English Advisory Council. Mandy has worked at several companies in the Kitchener-Waterloo, including OpenText, Agfa and ON Semiconductor, mainly in Marketing and Communications roles.

Petrina Gentile (BA ’93)

Petrina Gentile is an award-winning automotive journalist -- one of the few women who cover cars in Canada. Petrina has been writing for The Globe and Mail’s Drive section since 2004. She also covers the automotive beat for CTV NewsChannel on her bi-weekly national segment called "Up to Speed" and has appeared on CP24, CBC, CHCH TV, and BNN Bloomberg TV. She produced 18 seasons of the national TV show Car/Business with Jeremy Cato and Michael Vaughan, which was broadcast weekly on CTV and BNN. She has written several non-fiction books for kids including "Big Trucks, Big Wheels," "Dirt Movers," and "The Ballet School." Before focusing on cars, she was a news writer at CTV and a producer at BNN. She has a Master of Journalism (MJ) from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours English - Rhetoric and Professional Writing and Applied Studies - Co-operative Program) from the University of Waterloo.

Galen Naidoo Harris (BA ’19)

Since graduating from the University of Waterloo in 2019, Galen has gained extensive experience in professional persuasive writing and modern communications. He has demonstrated success in a variety of Marketing, Communications, Social Media and Writing positions with private sector businesses, not-for-profits, provincial and federal governments. Currently he works as a Manager of Community Affairs for a Member of Parliament in Milton.

Kate Wringe (MA’06)

Kate Wringe completed both her Undergraduate and Masters studies at the University of Waterloo. Equipped with an MA in English Language and Professional Writing, she is now an experienced senior technical writer with a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry. Skilled in user assistance, software documentation, online help, and agile methodologies, Kate currently works as a technical writer for Shopify Plus.
