Wilton LittlechildThe Department of Sociology and Legal Studies is very pleased to present a lecture by Chief Wilton (Willie) Littlechild, commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, former Member of Parliament, and respected lawyer. Chief Littlechild is a strong advocate for the rights of Indigenous Peoples and promoter of implementation of the treaties between the Indigenous Peoples of Canada and the Crown.  

The James E. Curtis Memorial Lecture sponsored by the Department of Sociology and Legal Studies is delivered annually by a distinguished Canadian scholar in honour of the life and work of Professor James Curtis. Professor Curtis spent his entire career at the University of Waterloo from 1970 until his untimely death on May 27, 2005.

A reception will follow the lecture.
