Taking History to the Screen: Learn about historical documentary-making

Award-winning film- and documentary-maker, and author of the best-selling One Day in August: The Untold Story Behind Canada’s Tragedy at Dieppe, David O’Keefe, has been writing, producing and directing historical films and documentaries for television for 15 years.

With a long list of television credits to his name, including History Television’s “War Junk,” "Camp X” and CTV’s “the Ghosts of Griffintown: A Look at the Irish Heart of Montreal," O’Keefe has successfully and repeatedly brought history to the general public. On 27 February, he will be on campus to talk about the opportunities and challenges for historians as they bring history to the small screen.
