Women, Peace and Security: Dispatches from Time and Place

Join us on November 11 for a public forum to remember the impact of war and colonization on women and girls. Hear from speakers on gender and race, war and life-writing, the lives of refugees, and peace and security.

Speakers include: 

  • Lori Campbell Cree-Metis from Treaty 6 territory, Saskatchewan, and director of Shatitsirotha, the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre, on gender and race
  • Carol Acton Associate Professor of English at St Jerome’s University, University of Waterloo on war and life-writing
  • Zaitun Hnin Pwint Phyu PhD student at York University, writer and storyteller of Rohingya refugees’ lives
  • Jennifer Henry Executive Director of KAIROS Canada on its Women, Peace and Security program with five global partners
