Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship announced

Dr. Effie Pereira has been announced as Waterloo’s 2022 Banting Postdoctoral Researcher by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and the Tri-Council funding bodies. Pereira is a cognitive scientist whose current research examines changing states of attention and its relation to cognitive performance and functioning.

A doctoral degree is the ultimate culmination of hard work and dedication. From countless hours attending seminars and conducting research, to TA'ing courses and preparing a dissertation, our PhD students have shown grit and determination from the outset. While the pandemic may have impacted the way research and courses were conducted, it cannot take away from the monumental accomplishment of completing a doctoral degree.

Sheila Ager named Dean of Arts

The University of Waterloo has appointed Sheila Ager as the next dean of the Faculty of Arts. A faculty member at Waterloo since 1987, Professor Ager is a full professor in the Department of Classical Studies and currently serves as interim chair for the Department of Fine Arts.
