The ACE Team is looking for a group of enthusiastic, passionate and motivated current Arts students to represent the Faculty of Arts in student engagement and success. Members of the ACE team are student leaders within the Arts community, and will gain valuable communication and event management skills, while contributing new ideas to further student engagement. The team will support both academic and social initiatives designed to foster a vibrant Arts community. The team will be supported by and work closely with the Arts Student Engagement Officer. 

As an ACE Team member, you will…

  • Contribute ideas to further engage the Arts student community (i.e. workshops, programs, social events, etc…)
  • Gain experience with event management, develop your leadership skills
  • Gain and share knowledge of various campus resources available to students
  • Have fun connecting with current students – sharing your experiences
  • Provide peer-to-peer academic support throughout various disciplines as well as support students transitioning into upper-year studies
  • Represent the Faculty of Arts, Arts student community, and the Arts Undergraduate Office as a committed, positive, and enthusiastic team member
  • Volunteer to support/facilitate/host academic workshops
  • Volunteer to support student engagement events (i.e. Whine & Cheese, De-stressing events in partnership with the ASU)

Qualifications

  • Must be currently registered with the Faculty of Arts with satisfactory or higher academic standing in your program
  • Successful candidates are required to be on an academic term 
  • Passionate about the Faculty of Arts and excited to build an engaging Arts student community
  • Positive, friendly and helpful attitude when communicating with students, staff or faculty
  • Strong team player
  • Committed to the team for the academic term signed up for

Fall 2018

  • ACE Team Training & Meeting: Early September
  • Mid-term De-stress Event: Mid-October
  • Whine & Cheese: Mid-September and November
  • Course Add/Drop Academic Support: November
  • End-of-Term De-stress Event: Week of November 26th, 2018 

Winter 2019

  • ACE Team Meeting: Early January
  • Whine & Cheese: January, February, and March
  • Mid-term De-stress: Mid-February
  • Declare a Major Parties: Mid-March
  • End-of-Term De-stress: Week of March 25th, 2019
 
We acknowledge that students may have other on-going obligations such as exams, part-time jobs, other clubs/societies, etc…  However, we ask that you allocate the minimum number of hours per week (2) to assist with programming support as needed.
