CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Organizational & Human Development\n\nFacilitator
: Laura Maple\n[https://uwaterloo.ca/human-resources/contacts/laura-maple
]\n\nWhen we experience perceived opposing goals\, viewpoints\, or interes
ts\nwith others around us\, we stall in our ability to solve problems.\nUn
derstanding what conflict is and how it shows up in our lives is an\nimpor
tant first step in resolving it. In this workshop\, you will\ncomplete the
Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Model Instrument to gain insight\ninto five diffe
rent conflict-handling behaviours\, and whether you\nmight be overusing or
under using one or more of them. Based on a mix\nof individual reflection
\, small and large group discussion\, we will\nexplore what conflict is\,
how it appears at work\, and introduce\nstrategies and tools to begin addr
essing it productively.
