 n\n​In our current political and social landscape\, students are\nhypera
 ware and hypersensitive to topics that broach themes of\nviolence\, oppres
 sion\, and power. The hyperawareness of students poses\nan interesting ch
 allenge for instructors\, as they need to learn to\nbalance student socio-
 emotional needs with essential content. In this\nLunch and Learn\, we wil
 l explore trauma-informed care\, and feminist\ninstructional strategies/pe
 dagogies to begin to empower instructors to\nfind meaningful ways to incor
 porate hard subjects into the\nclassroom. This session will involve a sho
 rt presentation on various\ninstructional strategies with ample time to di
 scuss and share our\nexperiences teaching hard subjects in the classroom.
