 gagement play a key role in amplifying the equity-denied voices.\nWhere th
 e previous Accessibility Advisory Panel focused primarily on\ncommunity en
 gagement through one-way communication\, the newly proposed\nDisability Af
 finity Program seeks to build community space for\nstudents\, staff\, and 
 faculty with disabilities or neurodivergence to\nfacilitate more authentic

 /about/people/jennifer-obrien-oct]n\n\nMS Teams\n\nMost work settings have
  been designed by neurotypical people\, for\nneurotypical people\, yet an 
 estimated 15-20% of Canadians identify as\nneurodivergent. Many highly ski
 lled neurodivergent individuals\nencounter workplace barriers that affect 
 their ability to thrive in\nthe workplace. In this workshop we will highli
 ght the lived experience\nof two forms of neurodivergence: autism and atte
 ntion deficit\nhyperactivity disorder (ADHD). We will identify common work
 place\nbarriers and challenges and review recommended practices that suppo
 rt\nneurodivergent employees.  \n\nParticipants will review their workpl
 ace from a neurodivergent\nperspective\, explore the hidden curriculum in 
 their workplace\, and\ndiscuss ways to incorporate recommendations that wo
 uld benefit\nneurodivergent and neurotypical employees\, alike. We will us
 e\ninteractive large group activities and small group discussions in\nbrea
 k-out rooms throughout the workshop. Recognizing that not everyone\nenjoys
  interactive activities\, we encourage all participants to\nrespect their 
 individual comfort level with participation.  This\n2-hour workshop inclu
 des a short break.
