Canada Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence
Alexander Wong, P.Eng., is currently a Canada Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence, Member of the College of the Royal Society of Canada, co-director of the Vision and Image Processing Lab, and an associate professor in the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He has published over 570 refereed journal and conference papers, as well as patents, in various fields such as computational imaging, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and multimedia systems.
In the area of artificial intelligence, his focus is on operational artificial intelligence for the design and development of scalable, explainable, and responsible artificial intelligence algorithms for real-world operational deployment. His technologies in operational artificial intelligence are currently leveraged by top-tier multinationals in the aerospace industry.
