DESCRIPTION:ABSTRACT\n\nThis talk will introduce micro-and nanorobots and t
 heir potential to\nrevolutionize medicine. One of the main goals of micror
 obots is to\nmake medical interventions more targeted and less invasive. N
 ano-and\nmicrorobots show great potential for active and remote-controlled
 \nmotion inside the human body. Possible future applications include\nacti
 ve\, targeted delivery of therapeutics to diseased sites (e.g.\ntumours)\,
  cell delivery for regenerative therapy and non-invasive\nsurgery. The rem
 oval of obstructions inside the body such as blood\nclots\, renal stones o
 r other blockages in a minimal invasive manner is\nanother main subject of
  our research. This talk will give an overview\nof the very interdisciplin
 ary research that combines expertise from\nrobotics\, medicine\, engineeri
 ng\, chemistry and biology.
