 basic principles and experimental set-ups for Edge Illumination\nand Beam 
 Tracking X-ray phase-contrast imaging (XPCI) are introduced\,\nalong with 
 examples on key applications where phase-based imaging\ncomplements and ad
 vances the more conventional attenuation-based X-ray\nimaging. X-ray dark-
 field techniques are also discussed with an\nemphasis on the most recent d
 evelopments on tomography and directional\nimaging.
