$15.8 million awarded to six Waterloo research projects aimed at tackling climate change

The Government of Canada's Environmental Damages Fund, administered by Environment and Climate Change Canada, is allocating $15.8 million to six University of Waterloo research projects to identify solutions to environmental challenges. One of the projects is led by Waterloo biologist Dr. Laura Hug.

Wicked problems require collaborative solutions

A new pilot course on climate change is bringing together unique perspectives from across Waterloo’s faculties and inviting senior undergraduate students to register.

The course, called The Wicked Problem of Climate Change, is being taught by six PhD students, one from each of the University’s six faculties, to understand the multifaceted issues that make up the climate emergency.
