The Zeiss LSM 510 Meta Confocal Microscope comes with the following features:
- 7 laser lines to select from
- UV 405nm at 25mW (for violet excitation of dyes such as BFP, DAPI, Hoechst, AMCA)
- Tunable Argon 458/477/488/514nm at 30mW (458, 477 and 488 for blue excitation of dyes such as GFP, CFP, FITC, CY2; 514 for green excitation of dyes)
- HeNe1 543nm at 1.0mW (as well as Argon 514 for green excitation of dyes such as Rhodamine, CY3, YFP, Propidium Iodide, Alexa 546)
- HeNe2 633nm at 5.0mW (for red excitation for dyes such as CY5)
- 5 objective lenses available
- C-Apochromat 10x/0.45 W
- Plan-Neofluar 25x/0.8 Imm corr DIC
- C-Apochromat 40x/1.2 W corr
- Plan-Neofluar 40x/1.3 Oil DIC
- Plan-Apochromat 63x/1.4 Oil DIC
- 2 PMTs (photomultiplier tubes)
- 1 Meta detector (polychromatic detector, can be used as 3rd PMT)
What the Zeiss LSM 510 Meta Confocal microscope can do for you:
- Z sectioning (Z-stacking) and 3D reconstruction
- Time series for cellular events
- Co-localization of multiple proteins and/or dyes
Imaging Software used to process raw images generated on the Confocal
- Zen 2009 software can be downloaded for free for all users
