Winter Physical Activity Study

Recruitment poster

We are conducting a study to investigate the barriers and facilitators to physical activity in the winter months for persons living with dementia. We are hoping to recruit persons with dementia (55+ years) and/or family care partners to share insights on what helps and hinders participation in physical activity during the winter.

We are looking for participants to participate in a 30-60 minute to share their experiences and perspectives on:

  • Your thoughts and feelings about physical activity and wintertime
  • What activities you enjoy doing in the winter.
  • What makes it challenging for you to be physically active during the winter
  • What helps/supports you to stay physical activity during the winter

The interview will be held on Zoom video conferencing and is expected to last 60-minutes. Participants will have a chance to win a $25 electronic gift card to one of Shopper's Drug Mart, Chapters, or Amazon as a thank-you for your participation. If you are interested in participating or getting more information about the study, please contact the lead student investigator, Tara Kuhn (tara.kuhn@uwaterloo.ca)

This research study has been reviewed and received ethics clearance through University of Waterloo (#44166).
