This Fall, you can decide to study online or in person for BASE

Tuesday, June 8, 2021

Students in a science labDue to COVID-19, the world is experiencing a number of unique challenges right now and we recognize that there is a lot of uncertainty. The safety and wellbeing of our students, instructors, and staff will always remain our most important priority.

This fall, we plan to offer the BASE program in two ways for students: an online format or a blended in-person format that will include in-person classes and online coursework. We will work to ensure that students who are unable to come to campus to learn in the fall can continue to study online for the fall term.

Whether you choose to study your BASE courses online or in person, you will experience the same course content and have access to the same academic supports.  We are committed to helping you build your language and academic skills in an interactive virtual and in-person environment where you can meet new friends and conference regularly with your classmates and instructors.  Our Student Experience team will make sure that you balance your learning with online and in-person opportunities for additional skill building, networking, and fun.

At this time, Ontario's provincial shutdown does not impact the arrival of international students, although a 14-day quarantine and COVID-19 test remain mandatory. You can still apply for your study permit if you missed the May 15 government deadline. View our International Student Guide for more information and resources.

Let us know your Fall Plans

Our BASE instructors will soon begin preparing for your courses this Fall in both an online or an in-person blended format. To help prepare, we must know where you plan to live from September to December 2021. This information will allow us to create class schedules that will be mindful and respectful of the various time zones.

Please tell us in our online web form about where you will be studying when you are in the BASE program during the months of September to December 2021. We also want to know if you plan to study in person or online.

Complete the form with the most current information that you know as of today. We understand that your plans may change during the summer. As your plans change, please return to this web form to update us with the most current information.

We hope to share class schedule information in late August. Thank you for your assistance!
