iBASE volunteers help students shed their 'stress away'!

Tuesday, August 8, 2017

The examination period for Waterloo students is almost coming to a close for this term, and students in our iBASE program want to help you shed the 'stress away'!

Stress AwayTo celebrate, students in the Intensive Bridge to Academic Success in English (iBASE) program are hosting a stress relief event at the Davis Centre Quad on Thursday, August 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The Waterloo community is invited to join in the festivities with high-spirited activities such as:

  • Popular 'Running Man' game (think tag but with stickers!)
  • Mystery box activity (with prizes to be won!)
  • Free hug station (featuring Reni Moose & King Warrior!)
  • Balloon popping
  • Free snacks and treats!

The event is hosted by the iBASE Rep volunteer team, a leadership development opportunity for iBASE students to strengthen their language, communication, and interpersonal skills. The team of more than 40 volunteers have been spending weeks planning this on-campus event for the Waterloo community.

Will we see you there? Join our Facebook Event Page!

What is iBASE?

The Intensive Bridge to Academic Success in English program (iBASE) is an accelerated 7-week English language program for students admitted to Accounting and Financial Management or the Faculties of Applied Health Sciences, Arts, Engineering, Environment, or Science.

Students who meet Waterloo's academic admission requirements but have English language scores that are just below Waterloo's minimum admission requirements may be offered a place in iBASE. Learn more at uwaterloo.ca/base.
