Monday, April 1, 2024 — 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM EDT

Gender Journeys is a supportive psychoeducational group specifically designed to support gender diverse (trans, non-binary, two-spirit, questioning) UW Students. This is a person, supportive and affirming group opportunity to explore important topics that can be key for gender wellness. The group is facilitated by Washington Silk, a counsellor with lived experienced.


The important topics we will explore together include but may not be limited to:

Wednesday, April 3, 2024 — 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM EDT

As Straight as the Ring Road is a social, walking group for all Queer and Trans Students that incorporates elements of mindfulness into each walk.

Join us if you enjoy connecting with others, tuning into yourself and the world around you, moving your body and getting out into nature.  

Dress and bring footwear appropriate for the weather. We may visit various places across the campus. Please contact the facilitator for any accommodation requirements/notes.

Wednesday, April 3, 2024 — 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM EDT

NeuroMinds Collective is a safe haven where your neurodiversity is celebrated, understood, and supported. We're a community of students who share diverse cognitive profiles, including ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and more. Our aim is to build a tight-knit network where you can freely express your thoughts, concerns, and achievements in a judgment-free zone. 

Wednesday, April 3, 2024 — 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM EDT

This is a virtual, closed 4-week healing group for Black, Indigenous, and Racialized (BIR) women-identified, non-binary, and gender non-conforming Laurier and University of Waterloo students. This group hopes to provide connection to community while exploring ways to heal from all forms of violence, including systemic, racial and gender-based violence. Some of the topics we are planning to focus on include tools for staying grounded, self-worth, relationships, and finding hope and resistance.

This drop in provides a safe and confidential space to share your experience and concerns related to being a graduate student. 

Themes discussed include balancing work and self-care, complications that arise in interpersonal relationships, navigating difficult conversations, getting unstuck, managing perfectionism and the internal critic, imposter syndrome, and fostering resilience. 

This drop in is intended to provide members with support, affirmation and interpersonal learning, while also providing some skills and strategies to enhance well-being.

Queer and Trans Graduate Students Wellness (QTWELL) is an open, drop-in group for any graduate student who is a sexual and gender minority or identifies as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

The group is facilitated by a counsellor with lived experience in the area and will focus on the many different aspects of wellness.
