Luna Khirfan is an associate professor in the University of Waterloo’s School of Planning. She has worked both in Canada and internationally, in countries such as Jordan, Israel, Syria and Italy. Her current research interests revolve around international development and comparative planning as well as participatory planning and community engagement. She particularly addresses these issues through her focus on:

  • Urban design, place making, and landscape urbanism
  • Historic preservation, cultural resource management, and museum studies
