Reaching out and connecting with total strangers about career stuff can be totally nerve-wracking and awkward. In this workshop we will abandon traditional ideas of "networking" and talk about connecting to other people as people. We will explore reasons to connect with others, some of the challenges you might face (e.g. anxiety, nerves, imposter syndrome, etc.), and give you tips and connect you with resources for navigating talking to strangers about career stuff in a new way.

Sometimes you may enter a workspace where you feel like you are not able to be your full self and share your identity fully or you may enter a workspace and feel like you are treated with respect and can be your most authentic you. At times, it might be hard to tell whether a space feels safe or unsafe. In this workshop we will help you determine how to assess the mental and emotional safety of workspaces, how to set boundaries and keeping yourself safe and well.
