Qualifications and Skills:

A degree in Engineering is preferred (Mechanical, Systems, Welding/Joining, or related field), or college diploma as Welding Engineering Technologist

Direct experience and demonstrated capabilities in various welding and joining processes including but not limited to arc welding, resistance welding, laser welding, sealer/adhesive and mechanical joining. Experience in one or more of the following industries is a must – automotive, aerospace, construction and forestry vehicles/equipment manufacturing industries

Leadership abilities in coordinating project requirements among co-workers inside a company or from engineering contract outsource agencies

A strong desire for research into advanced technologies and the ability to plan and execute projects accordingly.

Exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment including following assembly lines during design and commissioning stage, through installation, startup and post production start

Ability and willingness to travel to customer’s and Valiant TMS work locations in North America, Europe and Asia

Must be willing to work extended hours, if and when necessary, including overtime, weekends and holidays and on night shift, as project and customer demands dictate

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work with others, including peers and personnel in other departments and also the ability to educate and coach technicians and skill trade of the importance of Welding/Joining related activities

Motivated to be a self-learner and the ability to continuously improve and be educated of current requirements in the area of Welding and Joining
