 rrors\, safety assurance hurdles\, and high development\ncosts of systems 
 intended for public roads. The talk will also\nhighlight research taking p
 lace in the Waterloo Intelligent Systems\nEngineering (WISE) Lab\n[https:/

 necki is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering\nand a Univers
 ity Research Chair at the University of Waterloo. He is\nan Associate Dire
 ctor of the Waterloo Centre for Automotive Research\n(WatCAR) and leads th
 e Waterloo Intelligent Systems Engineering\n(WISE) Laboratory\, which co-
 led the development of the first\nautonomous vehicle tested on public road
 s in Canada. His research\nfocuses on ensuring the safety of AI systems an
 d driving behavior\, and\nhe has made significant contributions to automo
