Reusing electric car batteries will cut greenhouse gases

A group of University of Waterloo researchers say the salvage yard need not be the end of the road for exhausted electric-vehicle (EV) batteries. They’ve found that refurbished EV batteries can have a second career as power sources for everything from lighting to refrigeration.

Alumni at Miovision raise $30 million to fuel growth

Miovision, a Kitchener-based company founded by systems design engineering graduates announced the closing of $30 million CAD in their Series B financing round earlier this week.
