Staff and faculty training

University of Waterloo staff and faculty exercising in the small group training program.

UW Fitness services offers Small Group Training sessions and Specialized Fitness Programs for University of Waterloo faculty and staff. These session are NOT open to students.

  • Exercise in a private facility right here on campus

  • Exercise under supervision from experienced and knowledgeable Certified Exercise Physiologists

  • Benefit of supervision and instruction, yet at a lower cost than one-on-one training

NEW Livestream Exercise Classes for UW Staff **50% subsidy from Staff Excellence Fund

Join us for livestream exercise classes featuring an energy boosting Bootcamp or a fast and effective Express Home Workout! Each session will be 6 weeks long where staff attend once weekly livestream classes lead by our upbeat and certified fitness staff. A maximum of 12 participants per class enable us to monitor individual participants during the livestream sessions and give feedback and encouragement throughout. All sessions will be held on TEAMS and are 30 minutes long so you can fit them in over your lunch hour or after work. 

Thanks to funding from the Staff Excellence Fund, these livestream exercise programs will be offered at a 50% subsidy to UW Staff making the fee only $25 + HST. To make this available to as many staff as possible, participants may register for only one 6 week exercise program initially. If spaces do not fill up in subsequent program cycles, repeat registrations will be permitted. 

Bootcamp: This program involves a combination of traditional calisthenic and body weight exercises with interval and strength training to give your body that extra push and calorie burn.  Each week will be a completely new workout! Class times are Tuesdays 12:30-1pm (March 9th class is FULL) and Thursdays 4:45-5:15pm (SPACES AVAILABLE).

Express Home Workout: Learn a quick 30-minute full body strength program that you can do at home! The program includes a variety of exercises that require minimal equipment.  The same workout with a variety of options for progression will be used for this 6 week program. Class times are Mondays 4-4:30pm (SPACES AVAILABLE) and Thursdays 12-12:30 (March 11th class is FULL).

Week of January 25th
Week of March 8th
Week of April 19th

Please email UW Fitness to register for one of the livestream exercise programs. Be sure to indicate your preferred exercise class and day/time. Please rank order the classes if able to attend more than one option, as spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Once you have confirmed interest in a particular class, we will email the next steps on registration and payment.
