 te (GT) are an\nannoyance in the second language classroom. Students often
  rely\nheavily on GT in class or when completing homework assignments\, ra
 ther\nthan\, for example\, putting in the time required to learn vocabular
 y.\nAlthough many language instructors explicitly ban GT from their\ncours
 es\, students continue using it. The truth is\, GT will not go\naway\, and
  its functionality will only improve.\n\nGiven our new remote teaching rea
 lity\, now is a good time to shift our\nattitude towards Google Translate.
  How can we turn a tool used for\ncheating into a teachable moment where s
 tudents make use of online\ntranslation services and dictionaries to raise
  their language\nawareness\, to foster their intercultural competence and 
 learner\nautonomy\, and improve their electronic literacy and critical thi
 nking\nskills?
