Poster: Language Attitudes in Interaction in Narrated Language Biographies Poster (PDF)
On September 28th, Katharina König, visiting researcher from the University of Münster, Germany, held an inspiring lunch talk about Language attitudes in interaction in narrated language biographies.
The talk focused on the constructions of multilingual identities by analysing how verbalisations of language attitudes in interaction can be understood as sequences in which identity is created locally. Based on a corpus of narrative interviews with people of Vietnamese origin living in Germany, different linguistic strategies of self- and other-positioning (e. g. indirect formulations, categorical formulations) will be addressed.
