Thursday, August 20, 2020 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Location: Online (LEARN Site)

Host: This event is co-hosted with the Centre for Teaching Excellence and the Centre for Extended Learning

Description

Please note: You must take Active Learning Online Part 1 to enroll in Part 2.

Active Learning Online Part 2 provides instructors the opportunity to:

1. Practice with at least one of the tools explored in Part 1 (Perusall, Piazza, Quizlet, Bongo Video Assignment, and Padlet) by reproducing the activity/ies as an instructor.

2. Design their own online teaching activities to promote student engagement (Note: This aspect is optional)

3. Discuss their experiences using these tools and share successes, challenges, and ask additional questions

Practicing with the tools will happen asynchronously, and then all participants will reconvene for a live, 1.5-hour synchronous session on Thursday, August 20th at 1pm to discuss their experiences and for facilitators to provide further guidance and support on the use of these tools.

Registration

Registration is required. CTE has a new registration system called GoSignMeUp. Before you can register for a workshop, you need to create an account (one time only). Once you've created an account, you can register for this workshop.
