Assessing and Improving Your Teaching (CTE160)

Thursday, January 26, 2017 9:30 am - 11:00 am EST (GMT -05:00)

Location: EV1 241

Description: This workshop explores how to evaluate our teaching based on receiving input from our peers, our students, as well as independent evaluators. This workshop will explore the various mechanisms for obtaining feedback on the effectiveness of your teaching, including who to ask for feedback, and when to ask. We will discuss how to design effective feedback surveys. You will work in a group of participants to analyze sample feedback tools and discuss how to incorporate them in your teaching. The goal is to help you become more critically reflective of your teaching by tapping into, and utilizing the many tools for collecting evaluative information.

Facilitator: Cathy Wang, CTE and Patricia De Vries, CTE

Notes: Participants will receive an attendance credit if they arrive on time and stay until the end of the event.
