CUT Assessing Student Learning (CTE4020)

Description

We often think of assignments, tests, and exams as the only ways to assess students’ learning, but there are a many different assessment methods to choose from. In this workshop, we’ll consider the principles of effective assessment. We’ll then explore diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments that can be applied in different disciplines.

Pre-workshop activity

Please complete the required pre-workshop activity detailed in Waterloo LEARN at least 24 hours in advance of the workshop.

Registration

  • Registration is required. CTE has a new registration system called GoSignMeUp. Before you can register for a workshop, you need to create an account (one time only). Once you’ve created an account, you can register for this workshop.
  • Registration is limited to CUT participants enrolled in GS901.
  • A response paper is required following the workshop.

Cancellations

Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
