Description
Doing a multi-sourced literature review within higher education literature and synthesizing key research ideas and findings in a paper/scholarly workshop can seem like a daunting task. In this hands-on session, you will have the opportunity to produce a rough outline of your main deliverable (paper or mini-workshop) and receive feedback on the effectiveness of your plan. Through a series of guided exercises and dedicated writing time, you will be able to make progress on your paper/workshop and receive feedback from your peers.
Note: the required portion of the consultation session is one hour. The extra 30 min. are optional. We added this extra time for those of you who might want to discuss questions specific to your CUT project that might not be addressed during the session.
Pre-session activity
You should attend this working session if:
- Read at least 5 articles on your topic
- Create a rough outline/structure of your paper/workshop
- Optional: review writeonline.ca module (or sections that seem useful to you) on writing literature reviews
You should bring to this session:
- Outline or rough draft of the paper/workshop (i.e., main section headings with bullet point notes explaining what you will discuss)
Workshop delivery
This is a live session that will take place in Webex Meetings. The link to the Webex Meetings session will be sent to you by email closer to the session date.

- Registration is limited to CUT participants enrolled in GS 902 who have completed the Research Project (CTE146/CTE4146) workshop.
Cancellations
Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
