Location: Online

Description

Interested in learning more about PebblePad,our new institutional, centrally-supported ePortfolio platform, and how it can facilitate learning activities focused on engagement, reflection and integrative learning? Please register for one of these sessions.

If you have already completed CTE7501 (Introduction to PebblePlus: Part 1), please register for CTE7502 (Introduction to PebblePlus: Part 2).

You are welcome to register for Introduction to PebblePlus: Part 2 (CTE7502), but you must first participate in Introduction to PebblePlus: Part 1.

Please note intended audience: those who have used ePortfolios, or are familiar with ePortfolio pedagogy.

"ePortfolio practices help students develop capacities such as purposeful inquiry, mindful reflection, and the intentional integration of learning from different contexts, both school based and experiential. Optimally, students work on these issues, not just in a single course but recurrently, at multiple "touch points" over time. Students who engage in these practices graduate better prepared to both apply and continue their learning in their roles beyond college" (Schneider, 2018, p ix).

PebblePad is our new institutional and centrally-supported ePortfolio and Personal Learning Platform. This session will provide a brief overview of PebblePad, reviewing features inherent in the platform including PebblePad templates, workbooks, and collections, and discussing how these features can support learning. The session will include a hands-on opportunity to use some of the features that support assessment and interaction amongst peers.

This session will prepare you for Introduction to PebblePlus: Part 2.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Access the PebblePad platform
  • Add assets to PebblePad and tag accordingly
  • Share with and provide comments to peers' assets
  • Locate help resources in PebblePad Learning Centre
  • Identify next-steps for exploring how PebblePad might facilitate inquiry, reflection and intentional integrative learning in your program or course.
