Friday, March 22, 2019 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Facilitator: Christine Zaza (Centre for Teaching Excellence), Jason Thompson (Centre for Teaching Excellence)
Location: MC 2036

Description

According to cognitive scientist, Dr. Joe Kim, the single more effective way to enhance student learning is to fix your slides. In this workshop participants will learn how to design effective and engaging slide presentations based on cognitive theories and multimedia learning principles. Prior to the workshop, registrants will be asked to submit one of their own slide presentations to work on during this hands-on session.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify principles of effective slide design
  • Apply those principles to their own slides

Registration

Registration is required. CTE has a new registration system called GoSignMeUp. Before you can register for a workshop, you need to create an account (one time only). Once you've created an account, you can register for this workshop.

Cancellations

Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
