SharpScholar- Enable Active Learning in Your Classroom (CTE7504)

Description

During this workshop, we will demonstrate the use of SharpScholar in a flipped classroom setting model, and discuss case study results. We will show case SharpScholar as an effective active-learning platform. (flipped, blended, peer-instruction) in and outside of the classroom. The presentation will highlight the ways in which platform streamlines and facilitates active learning for instructors wanting to innovate their course delivery. We will overview the range of feedback provided by the platform analytics on student comprehension of pre-lecture content and engagement with in-lecture activities and how that is used to inform adaptive teaching.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

By the end of this workshop, you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate the value of active learning and future of professors in teaching

  • Identify and explore opportunities for using active learning in this courses

  • Appreciate the value of the Sharp Scholar platform features and analytics in facilitating active learning inside and outside the classroom.

Registration is required. CTE has a new registration system called GoSignMeUp. Before you can register for a workshop, you need to create an account (one time only). Once you've created an account, you can register for this workshop.

Cancellations

Many of our workshops have waiting lists, so if you've registered but can't attend, please cancel your registration well in advance through the registration system, so that someone else can fill your spot.
