Teaching Methods (CTE217)

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

Location: EV1 241

Description: Most instructors teach the way they were taught, which may or may not be a good thing. This interactive workshop will provide participants with a toolbox of activities suitable for any classroom. We will introduce the concept of active learning and teacher-centred versus student-centred classrooms. In this workshop we will also discuss some of the reasons for using different teaching methods and help you decide which ones are right for your classroom.

Facilitator: Luke Turcotte, CTE

Notes:

  • Open to all graduate students (registration required).
  • Participants will receive an attendance credit if they arrive on time and stay until the end of the event.
  • It is strongly recommended that this workshop be taken before starting microteaching sessions.
