Workshop description
Whether it is through the use of paper mills, social media, wearable devices, or the internet, technology makes it easy for students to cheat. Technology also enables instructors to identify and discourage cheating and enhance learning. In this session, we will describe how and why students use technology to cheat and how instructors can use technological and non-technological strategies to discourage cheating and improve learning.
Learning outcomes:
After the session, participants will be able to:
- define contract cheating
- describe how students use technology for academic misconduct
- identify technological and non-technological strategies that instructors can use to discourage cheating and enhance learning in assignments and assessments
