CTE's 10th Anniversary Celebration!

The Centre for Teaching Excellence is a decade old! Please join us to celebrate this milestone on Tuesday, November 7 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the courtyard of EV1. Mario Coniglio, AVP-A, will share a few words of congratulation at 3:30 pm, followed by some brief reflections on the past ten years by CTE’s Director, Donna Ellis. You are welcome to drop in to the event at any time. Beverages and snacks will be available.

Engineering instructors invited to learn about learning benefits of student hackathons

Join the Engineering Integrative Learning Group for a presentation from Andrew Milne, Rania Al-Hammoud, Derek Wright, and Chris Rennick on “Engineering Design Days,” a class-integrated curricular hackathon deployed in four undergraduate programs and five courses at Waterloo. Students and course instructors from each implementation provided feedback through surveys, focus groups, and interviews. The results so far have been overwhelmingly positive from both students and instructors, with the adoption of this concept expanding across the Faculty of Engineering. Registration is required.
