Register for CTE's New Faculty Teaching Days

On August 9 & 10, our annual New Faculty Teaching Days will feature our core new faculty offerings: Who Are Our Learners, Classroom Dynamics and Engagement, Assessment for Learning, and Course Design Fundamentals. This event is intended for all new faculty. Registration closes August 2.

CTE's Crystal Tse to facilitate workshop on implicit bias at Women in Physics Conference

The sixth annual Women in Physics Canada Conference is being held this week at Waterloo and will bring together early career scientists and leaders in physics. In her workshop on implicit bias, Crystal Tse, CTE's Instructional Developer, Research and Consulting, will introduce participants to what social psychology research has to say about prejudice and the impact implicit bias has on achievement, retention, and hiring in STEM. The Conference runs July 26-28.

Focus on writing with two CTE workshops next week

Find out how to get students writing in the Writing as a Learning Tool workshop on Monday, July 17, 1:30-3:30, then gain some techniques on how to give feedback on what they wrote in Improving Feedback on Written Assignments on Wednesday, July 19, 9:30-11:30. Join us for one or both of the workshops next week! Participants from all disciplines are welcome and encouraged to attend.

CTE is pleased to announce that Tommy Mayberry has been hired as Instructional Developer, TA Training and Writing Support, while Stephanie White is on parental leave.
