As the Educational Research Associate, Dr. Kristen Archbell supports the development, implementation, and dissemination of educational research at Waterloo. She supports the academic content of the annual conference program and the Learning Innovation and Teaching Enhancement (LITE) grant program. Additionally, Kristen is actively involved in the CTE's assessment plan, evaluating the efficacy of the Centre's programming.
Kristen recently completed her PhD in Developmental Psychology at Carleton University. Her research focuses on the correlates and outcomes of social withdrawal and anxiety in the academic setting, across childhood and adulthood. Her doctoral research investigated the psychometric properties of a newly developed measure, and examined the mediating role of communication in the links between social anxiety and academic experiences in higher education. Kristen's research utilizes a mixed method approach, drawing upon a diverse set of statistical techniques.
