Dr. Stephanie White supports writing instruction at the course, department, and faculty levels by sharing her expertise on designing writing and communication assignments in any discipline, teaching with writing, providing feedback on assignments, facilitating student peer review, developing rubrics, teaching multilingual writers, and training TAs to teach writing. She also helps coordinate and facilitate CTE’s Certificate in University Teaching and Fundamentals of University Teaching programs for graduate students and supervises CTE’s six TA Workshop Facilitators.

Stephanie holds a PhD in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she was the TA Assistant Director of Writing Across the Curriculum. Prior to her doctoral work, Stephanie received an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Notre Dame. She has taught writing and communication classes in the U.S. and here at the University of Waterloo. Her research interests include writing pedagogy, Writing Across the Curriculum and Writing in the Disciplines, community-engaged writing, and multimodal communication.
