Jerika Sanderson is a PhD candidate in the Department of English Language and Literature. She completed her BSc in Biological Sciences and English Language and Literature and her MA in English at Brock University. In her current research, she investigates the representation and communication of scientific, medical, and environmental topics. In addition to her own research, she has worked as a research assistant on multiple interdisciplinary projects.

Jerika has several years of experience as a teaching assistant and graduate instructor. Most recently, she was part of the team that collaboratively designed and co-instructed the new, interdisciplinary course called the Wicked Problem of Climate Change, where she taught content related to climate change communication and climate fiction. She has also instructed the undergraduate course Communication in the Sciences. Jerika completed the Fundamentals of University Teaching program and is currently working towards the Certificate in University Teaching. She is especially interested in interdisciplinary courses and collaborative teaching.
