Tuesday, October 1, 2019 8:30 am - 3:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Conference overview

Join CRE-MSD in kicking off Global Ergonomics Month to hear a diversity of stakeholder experiences in Using Ontario's New MSD Prevention Guideline to Empower Workplaces: A Year in Review.

Organizations continue to be challenged with the prevention and reduction of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD). Sprain and strain injuries to soft tissues in areas like the back, shoulder and wrist represent one of the leading causes of disability and discomfort in Ontario’s workforce. In October 2018, CRE-MSD launched the redeveloped MSD Prevention Guideline for Ontario (updated from the original 2007 Guideline) with new and updated resources and interactive tools targeted to meet the needs of organizations of all types and sizes. The new Guideline is available at www.msdprevention.com

As a living document, new content, resources and tools continue to be added to this new Guideline. Tools such as the new interactive Hazards and Control Pickerand the new Office Quick Start Guide which will be launched at this conference (printed copies will be distributed to participants).

This event will be of interest to individuals in all sectors, including employers, workers and workers’ representatives, supervisors, human resources professionals, health and safety professionals, ergonomists, government, and researchers. Please join us to learn about the use of Ontario’s new MSD Prevention Guideline and to share your experiences, questions and insights.
