Wednesday, October 7, 2020 12:00 pm - Tuesday, November 24, 2020 1:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Webinar series

This three-part webinar series will introduce and orient individuals to the new CSA D500:20, Ergonomic design for ambulances and related equipment standard.

Paramedics play an integral role in primary health care, and face many musculoskeletal (and other) injury risks in the process. This new standard will help support and improve paramedic health and performance by strengthening the use and application of ergonomic principles into ambulance design.

Webinar schedule

Webinar 1

Introducing the New CSA D500:20 Ergonomic Design for Ambulances and Related Equipment Standard: Benefits and Application for Paramedics

The first webinar in this series will provide a high-level overview of the standard and the process used to develop the standard. A panel of technical committee members will share their thoughts and insights about the standard and its potential for impact within the paramedic sector.

Webinar 3

Improving Design for Ambulances Using an Ergonomic Lens: Lessons Learned

The third webinar in this series will focus more broadly on lessons learned from the lens of an ergonomist. Ergonomic principles are most effective when considered proactively, at the earliest stages of design. Examples and vignettes will be discussed regarding the necessity of gauging ergonomics knowledge among the technical committee, dealing with anthropometry and considering how to integrate ergonomic principles to improve design without restricting creativity and innovation.

Date: November 24, 2020
