When it comes to business applications, the focus should be on optimizing efficiency and effectiveness. The field of ergonomics is not an island; like a lot of business processes, it must evolve to take advantage of relevant available technology or risk being left behind as a series of dinosaur checklists, paper-based assessment tools, handwritten measurements and instructor led trainings. 

This presentation will focus on how technology can be used to make your ergonomics process better. Specifically, we will share examples of how a few key tools, methods and approaches can accelerate MSD risk reduction efforts, optimize resources, and achieve global engagement.

About the presenters

Christy Lotz
Christy Lotz, M.Sc., CPE
Christy Lotz, Managing Consultant (and Ergonomics Engineer at VelocityEHS’ Humantech, leads large-scale ergonomics initiatives in the manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries and helps organizations build internal ergonomics expertise using software solutions. She has led the partnership with Toyota in the development and delivery of North American ergonomics training and new model support. Other clients include Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Eli Lilly, Dawn Foods, and Johns Manville.

Before joining Humantech as a full-time consultant, Christy completed an internship while earning her degree.
Christy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a Master of Science degree in Ergonomics and Biomechanics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Christy has achieved recognition as a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) and a Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE).

Josiah Allen
Josiah Allen, B.Sc., CPE
Josiah Allen, Senior Consultant and Ergonomics Engineer, facilitates the deployment of Humantech ergonomics software solutions and conducts on-site workshops across global companies. He performs musculoskeletal disorder risk assessments and redesigns workspaces. Before joining VelocityEHS’ Humantech, Josiah completed an internship for the company while finishing his degree. He also worked as a health and safety specialist with Amazon, solving ergonomics issues and implementing safety-related initiatives. Josiah received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He has achieved recognition as a Board-Certified Professional Ergonomist.
