Driving Solar Road Technology

Andrew Northmore, a student at the University of Waterloo supervised by Dr. Susan Tighe, was featured in the Waterloo Engineering 2012 Annual Report for his work with solar roads.

Andrew's research involves the development of a solar road panel prototype. This prototype was designed after a year and a half of design investigation. The focus of the research has been to determine how this panel will perform under real conditions.

The Ontario Centres of Excellence had a Student Video Competition for students to showcase their ideas in a three-minute video, using props or whatever creative presentation techniques they could devise. The Discovery 13 conference was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 27 and 28, 2013.

Congratulations to Kamal Joshi, MASc student (Supervisors: Soo Jeon, HJ Kwon and Susan Tighe) on being one of 15 finalists for the Student Video Competition for the Discovery Ontario Centres of Excellence Program.
