The Department of Chemical Engineeirng welcomes you to hear Professor Balakumar Balasingam discuss an important element in the move to mass electric vehicle adoption: management of the battery packs. He will introduce Cramer-Rao Lower bound (CRLB) and its variations as the achievable limit on equivalent circuit modeling parameter estimation, discuss some practical difficulties in achieving them and propose alternate solutions.
Campus Wellness is offering a new virtual workshop series for the Winter 2021 term: Managing Personal Wellness in a Global Pandemic.
The series includes three 1-hour workshops that can be taken in any order, and you can take one or all of them! The workshops include practical skills to help you handle anxiety and low mood, and create sustainable, achievable habits.
Calling all University of Waterloo graduate students, graduate alumni, administrators, and faculty in engineering! You are invited to a workshop discussing the Gender Differences in Waterloo Graduate Engineering Student Experience, on January 25, 2021, from 1-4:30pm (ET). All genders are encouraged to participate.
Join us to learn more about the exciting research being conducted by masters students in the Chemical Engineering department.
Future undergraduate engineering students are invited to join us for an admissions-focused webinar that will focus on the admissions process and cover topics like how to apply, tips for your Admissions Information Form (AIF) and more!
Our panellists will include our Director/Associate Director of Admissions as well as current students who successfully went through the process themselves.
Future undergraduate engineering students are invited to join us for a special webinar for students interested in Chemical or Nanotechnology Engineering. You will hear directly from current students, alumni, and professors to learn more about these programs, career opportunities, and the ways chemical and nanotechnology engineers are helping to solve the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please join the Department of Chemical Engineering as we honour Mihir Rodrigues and remember the time he spent with us at the University of Waterloo.
We will host an online memorial service on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 5 pm EST.
You may attend the service via Zoom:

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
